What is an NCS?

A Newborn Care Specialist is trained in all aspects of newborn care; such as swaddling, diapering, comforting, and feeding. They are able to educate parents as well as provide independent infant care. NCS are able to start as soon as the newborn comes home from the hospital, and help familes get settled into good feeding/sleeping habits.

What is a Baby Nurse?

“Baby Nurse” may refer to a Registered nurse who often cares for infants overnight who have special medical needs in private homes. Most often this is an outdated term that refers to a Newborn Care Specialist. However NCS do not have the training/credentials of a registered nurse; this term should only be used when referring to trained medical professionals.
